Meet Dr. Jeff McDaniel

Dr. Jeff McDaniel is a leadership coach, organizational culture consultant, and founder of True You Training Institute. With more than three decades of service in the United States Army—including diplomatic and command roles across multiple continents—his work has focused on understanding how belief, identity, and culture shape human behavior.

His work integrates science, leadership, and lived experience to help individuals and organizations move from survival to sustainable clarity, resilience, and performance.

How the Work Was Forged

Dr. Jeff’s work was forged in environments where clarity, trust, and decision-making were not optional—they were essential. Over 31 years in the United States Army, he served in senior leadership and diplomatic roles, including commanding special mission units and serving in embassies around the world.

During these years, Dr. Jeff observed a consistent pattern: while external events shape our lives, it is our interpretation of those events—our internal belief systems—that most powerfully determine behavior, health, and performance. In high-stress environments, false beliefs often become invisible drivers of anxiety, burnout, conflict, and disengagement.

In high-stress environments, false beliefs quietly become the most powerful drivers of behavior.

While commanding elite units, Dr. Jeff began intentionally applying what would later become the foundation of the True You methodology. The results were profound: not only unprecedented mission success, but measurable improvements in morale, trust, and psychological health—including healing from PTSD, anxiety, and depression among unit members.

Today, Dr. Jeff brings this same depth of experience to leaders, executives, and organizations seeking cultures that produce both human wellness and sustainable performance.
